The enlarged and marinised version of Hugh Falkus' excellent sea trout lure. Nigel Stevens from Hampshire introduced me to this one, it works best on a sinking line.
Tying:
- Hook
- Two size 4 or 2 hooks on a nylon mount, the whole can be up to 9"(23cm) long, though 4"(10cm) is a better size with which to start.
- Body
- Cover the two hookshanks with silver mylar tube, you may prefer to thread mylar over he whole mount as you prepare it. Whip the mylar down tightly at the ends, don't be afraid to add an intermediate whipping if necessary, varnish well.
- Wing
- Mobile blue hair tied fairly sparsely so that it does not extend past the point of the tail hook. Two or three strands of pearl mylar tied on top add a little extra life to the lure.
